Dr Wu Yijun is a MOH-accredited plastic surgeon in Singapore with more than 15 years of experience in reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery. Her clinical interests include reconstructive microsurgery and facial aesthetic procedures, supported by specialist training and international experience across the United States, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan.

As a female plastic surgeon, Dr Wu takes a thoughtful and holistic approach to patient care, recognising the relationship between physical appearance, confidence and overall wellbeing. She works closely with each patient to understand their concerns and treatment goals, helping them make informed decisions through personalised care.

Experience and Training

Dr Wu began her career in reconstructive plastic surgery, managing patients with a wide range of reconstructive needs across Singapore's public healthcare system. Over the course of her career, she has developed extensive expertise in reconstructive microsurgery while expanding her practice to include aesthetic plastic surgery.

Committed to continual professional development, Dr Wu has undertaken advanced training in the United States, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan. In 2022, she was awarded the prestigious AO Craniomaxillofacial Fellowship Award, further strengthening her expertise in craniofacial surgery.

Today, Dr Wu combines her reconstructive background with thoughtful treatment planning to support both function and long-term wellbeing.

Dr Wu provides care across a broad range of reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery procedures. Her practice encompasses both reconstructive surgery to restore form and function, and aesthetic procedures designed to enhance facial harmony and appearance.

Reconstructive Microsurgery

Reconstructive microsurgery involves highly specialised techniques to restore form and function following trauma, cancer treatment or congenital conditions. By combining meticulous surgical planning with advanced microsurgical techniques, Dr Wu aims to achieve functional restoration while preserving aesthetic outcomes whenever possible.

Facial Aesthetic Procedures

Dr Wu performs facial aesthetic procedures with an emphasis on achieving balanced, natural-looking results that complement each patient's unique facial features. Whether addressing age-related changes or enhancing facial harmony, she carefully considers facial proportions to create results that remain true to each individual's appearance.

Cosmetic Surgery

In addition to facial procedures, Dr Wu performs cosmetic surgery to enhance other areas of the body with a focus on safety, proportion and natural-looking results. She believes every procedure should be approached with careful planning, clear communication and realistic expectations to help patients make informed decisions.

Professional Appointments and Contributions

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Wu continues to contribute to the advancement of plastic surgery through public hospital appointments, medical education and surgical training.

She was the first full-time plastic surgeon at Woodlands Health, where she established and developed the hospital's plastic surgery service. She continues to serve as a Visiting Consultant, where she continues to contribute to the care of patients requiring reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery.

Committed to training the next generation of plastic surgeons, Dr Wu previously served as a Core Faculty Member of the National Plastic Surgery Residency Programme. She has also held teaching appointments as a Clinical Tutor and Adjunct Lecturer at both the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.

In recognition of her contributions to surgical education, Dr Wu received the Residency in SingHealth Excels (RiSE) Outstanding Faculty Award in 2023.
